Christa Bixby is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University’s Master of TESOL program with a background in elementary education. She currently directs the Writing Center at Westcliff University, teaches courses related to language methodology, and leads webinars for teacher training. She served two years as an English Language Fellow with the US Department of State and has over 12 years of experience teaching, including positions in Malaysia, South Africa, Vietnam and Los Angeles. She has had experience in training and managing teachers, developing curriculum and syllabi, organizing TESOL conferences, and creating standardized test materials. Her interests consist of discovering creative avenues to peak student interest and engagement in the classroom, facilitating teacher training and collaboration on both small and wide scales, and perpetually attempting to create classroom environments that resemble a community and foster empowered learners.
