Prof. Tarm (pronouns: she/her) holds a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, a Bachelor of Arts in Education Sciences degree, and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health Policy degree. By training, she is currently a CA registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.

She has worked with Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention & Services (RSVP) in supporting students who have experienced power and gender-based harm. She has facilitated affirmative consent workshops to all incoming students focusing on communication styles, sexuality, and consent with an emphasis on cultural influence. Additionally, she served as an equity and inclusion community health organizer under the Office for Health Promotion Strategy to foster research-led campus culture based on equity, safety, and driven by student wellbeing. 

Tarm’s work is rooted in her values for education, empowerment, and community building. She has a passion for personal and identity development working with youth and young adults to shape them into current and future critically-conscious leaders. This includes her work with PsypherLA as a workshop facilitator focused on youth-centered wellness and as a Rooted Projects Advisor with the Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) providing additional supervision to youth-led research projects addressing sexual violence in the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and families.
