Dr. Wissam Ahmed served as an adjunct faculty member at several Universities including, the University of Southern California (USC), the University of California, Irvine (UCI), California State University, Long Beach Dominguez Hills teaching graduate and undergraduate Computer Science courses including Compiler Design, Expert Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Programming Languages, Data Structures, Neural Networks, and other courses.
With a passion for technology and innovation, Dr. Ahmed possesses deep technical expertise and has held various CTO, management, and executive-level positions in the software industry. He has successfully built and managed software development teams ranging from 3 to 40 developers, working across diverse enterprise-level projects, including Mobile Apps, AI-based software, backend API, IVR (Interactive Voice Response), SaaS-based applications, Autonomous Vehicles, Speech Products, and Web Applications.
Dr. Ahmed’s technical expertise in software and AI applications has been a driving force behind the success of the development of cutting-edge AI solutions, including the Universal Routing AI Engine used for real-time routing of vehicles for On-Demand and shared rides, utilized by Transdev Taxi, buses, SuperShuttle and deployed to 35 airports in the nation. Dr. Amed has also spearheaded projects involving deep learning, where he led a team to develop an enterprise software application that predicts the current price of real estate properties using AI, statistical, and probabilistic models based on historical sales data. Moreover, Dr. Ahmed has built AI software to predict the deterioration of artificial human heart valves from sound signals, developed neural networks to distinguish between authentic and faked stuttering from speech signals, developed IVR for NY City paratransit transportation division and currently working in the field of software development for autonomous vehicles.
Aside from managing and leading AI projects, Dr. Ahmed actively develops in Python, C#, C/C++, and other languages. His ability to stay up to date with emerging technologies and their practical applications in real-world scenarios has been a key driver in his successful career.
