Message Regarding Earthquakes in Turkey and Syria
As the details of the devastating earthquakes in southern Turkey and neighboring northern Syria unfold, we stand ready to help all of our Westcliff family members who are affected by these tragic events. These natural disasters have led to the loss of tens of thousands of lives with injuries and displacements in the tens of millions, including entire neighborhoods and communities. The World Health Organization has estimated as many as 23 million people and 1.4 million children have been impacted.
Westcliff University has many students, faculty, alumni, and friends in these countries. We send our heartfelt condolences to all these members of the Westcliff family and send our utmost support during this disastrous time.
Our student services and human resources departments are in the process of contacting our students, alumni, faculty, and staff who are currently in or from Turkey and Syria to see how we can help during this distressing and heartbreaking time. For students, the Westcliff University IMPACT Student Life Assistance Program offers confidential mental health support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Counseling (in-person, video, phone, or chat) is also available. Please contact your student services advisor by email at studentservices@westcliff.
