Higher-Ed Institution Ranks Top 30 Among American Universities; Top 600 Among 1.4K Institutions Worldwide
IRVINE, CALIF. (APRIL 28, 2022) – Westcliff University has once again been recognized with high marks in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, demonstrating remarkable improvements in the university’s commitment toward a more sustainable future across the globe. The rankings, based on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), are a measure of university progress and how learning institutions address global challenges with strategies that improve health and education; reduce inequality; bolster economic growth; and increase environmental stewardship by addressing climate change and impacts such as forced migration. On April 27, Times Higher Education made the official announcement that Westcliff University ranked top 30 among American universities; and among the 1,400 institutions reviewed, Westcliff University ranked in the top 600 globally – an impressive achievement for a growing institution.
Westcliff University improved its overall positioning to top 600 universities worldwide from the top 800 in the previous year. This achievement proves growth across six individual categories globally, including top 400 in the SDG 4 (Quality Education) – an indicator of lifelong learning opportunities being accessible to all; and top 200 in the SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) – an indicator reflecting the university’s contributions to a just society and the development of effective, accountable and inclusive institutions. The university also bettered its performance in the areas of economic growth, collaboration with other countries, promotion of best practices and the reversal of social inequalities.
